Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh called on the new US admiration to turn its words into action and to work seriously in order to put an end to Israeli settlement expansion.
Speaking at the opening of the weekly cabinet meeting held in Ramallah, Shtayyeh addressed efforts to tackle the coronavirus outbreak and the escalation of Jewish settlement activities in occupied West Bank, which he stressed undermine international efforts to keep alive the prospect of establishing the state of Palestine.
He reiterated his thanks to the decision of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to open a criminal investigation into the Situation of Palestine, praising the ICC prosecutor’s courage despite prior and subsequent challenges.
He affirmed cooperation with ICC in providing all data needed to speed up investigations to bring the perpetrators of crimes to justice.
Regarding efforts to tackle the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the prime minister confirmed that he will head tomorrow a meeting with the crisis cell to address the provision of Covid-19 vaccines and urge international bodies to fulfill their commitments.
