Egypt today condemned a decision by the Israeli government approving the construction of 800 new settlement housing units in the occupied West Bank, considering it a new violation of United Nations resolutions.
Ahmed Hafez, the spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, expressed concern over the successive steps taken by the Israeli authorities to undermine the two-state solutions.
He said that this measure comes at a time several international parties are joining efforts to revive negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis, pointing out the negative consequences such measures could have on the security and stability of the region.
