The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said today the US administration’s decision to label goods manufactured in the illegal Israeli settlements as made in Israel was a “war crime and a violation all international laws and conventions”.
The Foreign Ministry affirmed in a statement that the US’ decision was an attempt to legitimize settlement-manufactured goods as well as the theft of Palestinian land and products, and that this could encourage more Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people.
The Ministry rejected all attempts aimed at dividing the Palestinian land, including East Jerusalem, stressing that Palestine will remain a single geographical unit including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and that sovereignty over these areas and their resources belongs exclusively to Palestinian people.
The Ministry affirmed that it will face any attempts to falsify the origin of goods manufactured in the illegal settlements built on the occupied Palestinian land, which violates the rules of international law, including the UN Security Council Resolution 2334.
It pointed out that the outgoing US administration has used to lie to the American citizens to make them complicit in the theft of the natural resources and capabilities of the Palestinian people, adding that it will work with all parties, institutions and international courts to hold accountable all those who violate Palestinian rights.
It said that all the decisions taken by the current US administration are ideological decisions that are hostile to the Palestinian people and rights, and are based on an ideology hostile to international law and the UN resolutions.
The Ministry called on the international community and free peoples, including the American people, to follow the example of all peoples who reject the goods of Israeli settlements, as they are a clear violation of the rules of international law as per the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
