The spokesman for the Palestinian president, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said today that normalization, the so-called deal of the century and the annexation plan are all unacceptable and nothing will pass or be implemented at the expense of the Palestinian people, stressing that the Palestinian leadership will take the appropriate measures at the right time and will act at all levels.
Speaking to the official Voice of Palestine radio, Abu Rudeineh said that the leadership has confidence in the Palestinian people and the free people of the world, stressing that the Palestinian cause is a sacred one, particularly its Islamic and Christian holy places, and that its historical constants are well established and cannot be relinquished.
“Jerusalem is not for sale, not with gold or silver, and not with order from the Israeli or the American administration or any other administration. Our address is the Palestinian leadership and its president, Mahmoud Abbas,” he said.
“Normalization is unacceptable, rejected and condemned, not only because it is contrary to Arab laws and international legitimacy, but because it circumvents the Palestinian people,” added the presidential spokesman, stressing that the Palestinian message has always been that no one has the right to speak in the name of the Palestinian people who have a leadership supported by its people, the Arabs and internationally, and no one may deviate from the agreed upon norms.
Abu Rudeineh said the US Administration continues to provide free services to Israel, and all that is done by any Arab country will not change the Palestinian constants. “Peace will only be achieved with the consent of our people and its leadership, and any attempt to bypass that will not achieve peace, stability, security, or prosperity because the Palestinian issue is clear and anyone who wants to search for peace, justice and stability must turn to the only option that leads to the desired peace,” he said.
The presidential spokesman stressed that President Mahmoud Abbas’ speech before the United Nations General Assembly last September clarified the path to security, peace and stability. “We demand an international conference attended by the Quartet and other parties in order to implement the international legitimacy that is part of the Arab and Palestinian legitimacy and Security Council resolution 1515, which states very clearly that the Palestinian territory is the land occupied in 1967, in addition to abiding by the Security Council resolution 2334 approved by the previous US administration in the Obama era, which states that the occupied territories and settlements are illegal, and that the occupied territory is the land occupied in 1967, which includes East Jerusalem,” he said.
“This is the only way to security and peace and without the Palestinian people, their consent and that of their legitimate leadership, there will be no security and stability in the region,” affirmed Abu Rudeineh, who expected that all the illegal Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories are going to be removed. “Just as the settlements were removed from Gaza, they will also be completely removed from the West Bank,” he said.
