Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced today that 1911 new coronavirus infections, 24 deaths and 956 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the past 24 hours.
In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, she said 16 deaths were registered in the West Bank, six in occupied Jerusalem and one in the Gaza Strip.
Of the total infections registered, 1615 cases were in the West Bank, including 449 in the central district of Ramallah alone, followed by Hebron (353), Nablus (197), and Bethlehem (128).
Meanwhile, a noticeable decline in the number of daily cases was registered in the Gaza Strip, with 88 cases reported. In occupied East Jerusalem, a total of 208 cases were registered.
Meanwhile, the West Bank had 717 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip recorded 100 cases. In occupied Jerusalem, 136 recoveries were reported.
The health minister said 117 patients of coronavirus are under intensive care, of whom 26 are on ventilators.
Alkaila pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far stood at 90.8 percent, while active cases scored 8.1 percent. Deaths stood at 1.1 percent of total infections.
