President Mahmoud Abbas arrived today evening in Egypt on an official visit during which he will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah sl-Sisi. He earlier visited Jodan where he met King Abdullah in Aqaba.
Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt, Diab al-Louh, said that the president’s visit embodies the permanent and continuous consultation and cooperation with President Sisi on various issues at the Arab, regional and international levels, mainly the current circumstances the region is going through.
He added that the two presidents will meet tomorrow, Monday, noting they will focus on the challenges facing the efforts of the Palestinian people to obtain their inalienable rights, fulfill the right to self-determination and establish their independent state on the lands occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ambassador also praised the Egyptian stance in support of the Palestinian people and their just causes, stressing that the Egyptian leadership and people consider the Palestinian cause an Egyptian national security issue, and give it all the care and attention throughout history.
The President is accompanied by member of Fatah Central Committee and head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs, Hussein al-Sheikh, as well as head of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Majid Faraj.
