Rabih Azad Ahmad, a Danish councilor of Palestinian origin, won the internal elections of the Danish Radical Party in the city of Aarhus with more than two-thirds of the votes, today said the Expatriates Affairs Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
With this victory, Azad-Ahmad will head his party’s list in the Aarhus municipal elections scheduled to take place in November.
Azad-Ahmad was born in 1976 at al-Buss Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon to a Palestinian family displaced from the city of Acre. He arrived in Denmark in 1989 with his family at the age of 12. He is a member of Aarhus City Council since 1 February 2007 and Councilor for Culture and Citizen Services since 1 January 2014.
He has many political and social activities in the city and is active in Palestinian affairs in Denmark.
