Prime minister shtyyah met on Tuesday with Palestinian community and number of representatives of Palestinian popular organizations in Cairo, In the presence of accompanying ministerial delegation, at the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo
Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said today that working on facilitating the lives of the people in the Gaza Strip and providing them with basic needs is a top priority of his ongoing visit to Egypt
Shtayyeh said “ We are here because Egypt is dear for us, and this is the first official visit with this momentum, we thank the Egyptian government for the warm welcome, we reached to many agreements, we’re keen to open new prospects with our brothers in Egypt ‘’
He reiterated the importance of the President Mahmoud Abbas’ call for general elections, as a way to unify the Palestinian people.
“We want our goods to enter Egypt and we want Egypt’s goods to be present in our markets,” Shtayyeh said, outlining the government’s strategy of gradual disengagement from Israel, self-reliance through strengthening national products, and opening Arab markets to Palestinian products, Shtayyeh added.
Shtayyeh also listen to requirements of Palestinian community in Egypt and their living-conditions, promised to discuss the problems of Palestinian community with Egyptian brothers to improve Palestinian-living-levels in Egypt.
