20 August 1980: The Security Council issued Resolution No. 478 in response to the annexation of Jerusalem by the Government of Menachem Beijing on August 8, and decided not to recognize this annexation and calls upon diplomatic missions to withdraw their representatives and offices from Jerusalem.
