Hundreds of demonstrators assembled in both Chicago and Dallas to call for a stop, to the export of weapons from the U.S to Israel with the goal of putting a halt to the attacks, on Gaza.
In Chicagos city streets, on a day filled with passion and unity were a group of individuals. Humanitarians fighting for rights and justice for all; groups standing in solidarity with Palestinians; and members from Arab and Muslim communities alike coming together in harmony to lead a peaceful march advocating their cause against violence and oppression in Gaza. Carrying signs that demanded action. Urging an end to the atrocities in Gaza and calling for a halt, to weapons flowing into Israel. They voiced their support loudly through chants and songs that echoed through the city streets. This gathering is a piece of the puzzle of peaceful protests happening weekly throughout various parts of the United States since the autumn months of 2023.
Protesters gathered in Dallas outside the Global Conference, for Israel – a event on a global scale – to express their disapproval of Israels current military campaign in Gaza and to voice their concerns, about the U.S.s backing of these operations.
The demonstrations form a part of an expanding movement, in the United States that aims to bring attention to the crisis in Gaza and push for an end to what advocates label as cleansing in Palestine. The push for a restriction of arms sales to Israel is picking up support, from Palestinian factions urging the U.S government to halt military assistance until Israel stops its assaults and adheres to international regulations.
