President Mahmoud Abbas today received at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah the President of the State of Latvia, Edgars Rinkević, and briefed him on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territory, especially in the Gaza Strip.
President Abbas stressed the necessity of immediately stopping the Israeli occupation’s all-out aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and its crime of genocide, speeding up entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, stopping the attacks of the occupation forces and colonist terrorists in the West Bank, and the need to release the Palestinian funds held by the Israeli occupation government.
The President renewed the State of Palestine’s categorical rejection of displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
He stressed that there is no security or military solution for the Gaza Strip and that Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian state, and it is not possible to accept or deal with the plans of the occupation authorities to separate the Gaza Strip from the West Bank and Jerusalem, re-occupy it, or cut off any part of it.
The President stressed that security and peace are achieved by ending the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He pointed to the necessity of strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.
