On Tuesday, Dr. Samir Al-Rifai, a member of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement, and the Commissioner of the Foreign Regions, met the movement’s committee in Egypt, cadres of the movement and the Palestinian community in Egypt, in the presence of Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, Dr. Barakat Al-Farra, former Palestinian ambassador to Egypt and head of the Egyptian-Palestinian Friendship Foundation, Dr. Muhammad Gharib, secretary-general of the Fatah movement in Egypt, at the region’s headquarters in Cairo.
The meeting was opened by Dr. Muhammad Gharib, Secretary general of “Fatah” movement in Egypt, welcomed the commissioner and the audience at this meeting, which will deal with the latest developments on the political and movement levels.
Dr. Samir Al-Rifai,talked about the Palestinian scene, in both its political and kinetic parts, and the conditions in which our Palestinian people live, which began with the issuance of the Balfour Declaration 105 years ago.
He pointed out that the recent meetings held in the city of El Alamein, which were organized by the Arab Republic of Egypt, were a gateway to the continuation of reconciliation efforts and ending the division, because our national unity is a national and strategic benefit that cannot be abandoned. He also talked about the importance of mobilizing the movement inside and outside the homeland and rearranging Fatah House. Achieving Palestinian national unity and supporting the steadfastness of our Palestinian people in facing the dangers surrounding the cause, in light of the increasing attacks of the Israeli occupation forces, settlers, the daily Israeli aggression and settlement that our Palestinian people suffer from, which contradicts all international agreements and resolutions regarding the right of our Palestinian people to freedom and self-determination.
Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk discussed the latest developments in the activities of Palestinian diplomacy, the successes achieved, prospects for future work, and the support provided by the League of Arab States to the Palestinian people.
