Four Palestinians died of the novel coronavirus in the diaspora, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
It said in a press statement that a Palestinian died of the highly contagious virus in Venezuela, raising the death toll among Palestinians in that Latin American country since the pandemic outbreak to five. The total confirmed cases stood at 15.
It added that a Palestinian expatriate died of the virus in Brazil, bringing the death toll among Palestinians in this country to 15.
In Germany, a prominent Palestinian nuclear medicine specialist identified as Suleiman Abu-Obeid succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the death toll among Palestinians in the country to two.
In India, a staff in the Palestinian embassy died after contracting the disease, the first death case among the Palestinian community in this country.
In Greece, the ministry confirmed that a staff of the Palestinian embassy in Athens contracted the virus, bringing the total confirmed cases among Palestinians there to five.
According to the latest statistics, the confirmed cases and deaths among Palestinians in the diaspora reached 13,326 and 397 respectively.
