Jordan today condemned Israeli tenders to build 2572 new housing units in its illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman Daifallah Ali El-Fayez said in a statement that “the settlement activities are illegitimate, illegal, condemned, and rejected, and are considered a blatant and grave violation of international law, foremost (United Nations) Security Council Resolution 2334.”
He stressed that “the entire settlement policy in all its details is in violation of international law, and undermines the foundations of peace, efforts to achieve it, and chances of the two-state solution based on the resolutions of the international legitimacy.”
El-Fayez called on the international community “to act and shoulder its responsibility to pressure Israel to halt its settlement policy and activities.”
