The Arab League condemned yesterday’s killing of a young Palestinian boy by Israeli army fire during clashes in the al-Mugghyyir village to the east of Ramallah, in central West Bank.
In a statement, the Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and occupied Arab Territories Saeed Abu Ali, said this heinous crime that shook the human conscience is nothing but a continuation of the occupation’s series of systematic crimes against the Palestinian people and desecration of Palestinian blood, rights, land, and holy places.
He stressed that this crime proves the occupation’s disregard for international values, laws, and conventions, and its persistent aggression against the Palestinian people, affirming the increasing responsibility of the international community to provide them with protection.
He further denounced the attempted arson attack by an Israeli Jewish fanatic on the Church of Gethsemane in occupied East Jerusalem yesterday.
He slammed the arson attack as an extremely grave act of terrorism that exposes the Israeli colonial mentality, and the systematic incitement of the occupation government, calling for providing international protection for the Palestinian people and their Islamic and Christian holy sites, in accordance with the provisions of international charters, laws, and resolutions.
He held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the continuation of these crimes, calling on the international community to work to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes and its escalating targeting of Islamic and Christian holy sites.
