Governor of Jenin, Akram Rajoub, ordered today a four-day lockdown of the town of Meithalun in the Jenin Governorate, north of the West Bank, following a rapid surge in coronavirus cases.
Rajoub said in a statement that the town will be locked down in order for the preventive medicine teams to conduct the necessary coronavirus tests, so as to prevent a wider outbreak of the pandemic in the town and the neighboring villages.
He said security forces will be deployed to the town for the implementation of the lockdown order.
