Palestine today recorded 499 new novel coronavirus cases and 346 recovery cases in the last 24 hours.
Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced that among the 499 new confirmed cases, 140 cases were recorded in Hebron district, four others in Nablus district, 32 others in Bethlehem district and 23 others in Qalqilia district.
The new cases also included 48 cases in Ramallah and al-Bireh district, another in Jenin district, four others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, three others in Salfit district, 25 others in Tulkarem district and 219 others in Jerusalem district.
Al-Kaileh added that 346 COVID-19 patients recovered across the occupied territories in the last 24 hours.
Among the recovery cases, she pointed out, nine cases were recorded in Jenin district, 74 others in Hebron district, 158 others in Jerusalem district, 25 others in Nablus district and 80 others in Bethlehem district.
She added that 21 patients remain in the intensive care units, including four who are still connected to respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 20,093.
Out of the 20,093 cases, 15,103 are recorded in the West Bank, 81 in the Gaza Strip and 4,909 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 11,514, accounting for 57.3 percent of the total cases since the pandemic outbreak, and the death toll reached 114, accounting for 0.6 percent of the total cases.
This leaves a total of 8,465 active cases, accounting for 42.1 percent of the total cases.
