Premier Mohammad Shtayyeh today commended the Islamic Development Bank for the provision of $5.5 million in speedy aid to help tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
“The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has responded to the government’s request through providing medical equipment worth USD 5.5 million to the health sector, particularly in Hebron governorate, to battle the spread of the coronavirus pandemic through Al-Aqsa Fund,” Shtayyeh stated.
He pointed out that the Health Ministry has sent the list of needs to IDB to prepare the invitation of tenders for the purchase of medical equipment and medicines.
He stressed that IDB has fulfilled its commitment of granting USD 25 million in a soft loan to the Palestinian government in support of Estidama Program launched by the Palestine Monetary Authority to provide funding to small and medium enterprises impacted by the coronavirus crisis.
