Palestinians wishing to return to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border crossing, on Gaza’s border with Egypt, will be able to do so during the period between Monday and Thursday of this week, the Palestinian embassy in Egypt announced today.
Daib al-Louh, Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt, thanked Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi and the Egyptian authorities for facilitating the movement of passengers into Gaza and for supporting the Palestinian cause on all political and diplomatic levels.
The border crossing has been closed since the start of the current crisis resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Palestine and the entire world. Hundreds of Palestinian travelers have been left stranded in Egypt and elsewhere as a result of the closure of the border crossing and international airports in Egypt and other countries ever since.
