The speech by President Mahmoud Abbas tomorrow at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will serve as a reference for any future peace process, today said Majdi al-Khalidi, the president’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs.
Speaking to the official Voice of Palestine radio, Khalidi said the president will deliver an important speech at the UNSC to mobilize international support against the so-called deal of the century plan presented in Washington on January 28 by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing it as a “liquidation plan.”
He said the UNSC is expected to start its session at five o’clock tomorrow evening, Palestine time, which will be followed immediately by the president’s speech.
“It is important to listen closely to what the president will say and its thoughts, substance and accounts of the Palestinian position,” he said, stressing that “the speech will serve as a reference to any future peace process.”
Meanwhile, the Palestinian factions in the occupied territories are planning to rally in Ramallah and Gaza tomorrow in support of President Abbas and Palestinian opposition to the deal of the century as Abbas prepares to address the UNSC.
