Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki welcomed today a statement by his Belgian counterpart Philippe Goffin in which he described the US-led “deal of the century” as a disregard to international consensus on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
“This Belgian position is another victory for international legitimacy and its resolutions, another blow to the Trump administration and its sinister deal, and another episode in the growing international rejection of the American bullying on international law and the rights of our people,” al-Malki said in a statement.
“This is a clear condemnation of the fait accompli policy practiced by the [Israeli] occupation authorities by increasing settlement construction and Judaization of the occupied Palestinian territory,” he continued.
Al-Malki stressed that the growing international rejection of the US’ deal would reinforce the Palestinian position which endorses the international peace references as the solution to the conflict, based on a multilateral international mechanism.
