President Mahmoud Abbas, on a three day official visit to Japan, met today in Tokyo with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the region, as well as developing bilateral relations.
President Abbas, who arrived in Tokyo earlier today, thanked Japan for its stand and efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and just cause as well as their struggle to win their freedom independence.
He also reiterated his condolences for the victims of the recent typhoon, stressing the Palestinian people sympathy and solidarity with the people of Japan in this tragedy.
The president is expected to also meet the Japanese foreign and defense ministers and will also attend the ceremonies for Emperor Naruhito’s ascension to the throne on Tuesday.
