President Mahmoud Abbas said that within a period of one year, and thanks to the latest achievements in the Palestinian medical sector, there should be no need for Palestinian patients to seek treatment abroad.
During the opening ceremony of H-Clinic Hospital, a private hospital in Ramallah, he said, “I told the Minister of Health that within a year there must inevitably be no patient being treated abroad. Are we lacking the competencies? I do not think this is a valid argument… and if we lack the equipment it will be met immediately.”
“I don’t want a Palestinian to be treated neither in Israel nor in America, as long as the [doctor] who will treat him/her in America is here now, and as long as we have the machine and the equipment. Are we lacking anything? We are lacking nothing,” the President added.
“We have been a highly qualified people for a long time, for 90 years, and our Palestinian youth have been working and educating everywhere, both in the Arab world and in the non-Arab world.”
The newly opened hospital includes more than 40 specialized clinics meeting the latest international standards.
