President Mahmoud Abbas met with the Prime Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg, in the Norwegian capital Oslo, where they discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the region.
The President briefed Solberg on several issues, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announced plan of annexing the Jordan Valley as well as Israel’s withholding of millions of dollars in Palestinian tax revenues.
He also expressed appreciation for Norway’s support of the Palestine people, and called upon the latter to pressure Israel to release the withheld tax revenues as well as to cancel the Jordan Valley annexation plan.
Moreover, President Mahmoud Abbas briefed Tone Wilhelmsen Troen, President of the supreme Norwegian legislative, the Storting, on several ongoing issues.
President Abbas had arrived in Oslo yesterday for an official three-day visit.
