Chief Religious Justice Mahmoud al-Habbash met with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Syromolotov, at the headquarters of the Russian Foreign Ministry in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Habbash and the Russian official discussed the Russian-Palestinian relations, the situation in the Middle East, especially in Palestine, and the challenges facing the achievement of peace and security, particularly the continuation of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Habbash praised the Russian leadership’s support of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to their land and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign state, praising the historical friendship between Russia and Palestine.
For his part, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed Russia’s support of the legitimate Palestinian rights, particularly the right to self-determination and the establishment of the State of Palestine as one of the most important guarantees of security and stability in the region.
