12/6/1974: Hero of Hebron: The Commander of Mount Hebron the martyr captain / Bajas Abu Atwan (Abu Shanar), the owner of the rich struggle experience in the Palestinian resistance struggle and the executor of more than (50) operation and his group of Fidai, and the experience of moral and political guidance to his fellow fighters and the people of the region. He is a resident of the town of Dura near Hebron. The enemy discovered after his death that his position was located only 200 meters from the enemy camp that was set up to pursue him in the mountains of Hebron. His last message to the leader, General Yasser Arafat, says: “We pledge you and pledge our people and we pledge Allah that we will not give up, we will not lay down arms and we will fight even with stones.” His funeral was celebrated by large crowds up to (5 km).
