President Mahmoud Abbas, met with President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Sisi, on Sunday, in Cairo.
President Abbas briefed president El-Sisi on the latest Palestinian developments of the Palestinian cause, in light of challenges facing Palestinians, particularly after Israel disavowed all signed agreements, the latest of which was the confiscation of Palestinian funds.
President Abbas pointed out the steps that the leadership intends to take to face these challenges, which will Strengthen steadfastness of our people to establish our independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and right of return according to international resolutions , and the Arab peace initiative.
The President lauded the efforts of Egypt, headed by President Al-Sisi, and the importance of ongoing coordination and communication between two countries.
For his part, the Egyptian president stressed the deep-Rooted Relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and affirmed Egypt’s continued support of the Palestinian people and its cause until the fulfillment of its legitimate rights and establishment of its independent state.
The summit was attended by Secretary general of (PLO) Executive Committee, Dr. Saeb Erekat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al Malki, and the president’s advisor for diplomatic affairs Majdi Al-Khalidi, as well as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Egypt Diab Al-Louh.
