An Israeli navy boat opened fire at a Palestinian fisherman on Wednesday while fishing in the northern Gaza shore fatally wounding him, according to medical sources.
They said the fisherman, identified as Nawaf al-Atar, 20, from Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip, was brought to hospital with critical gun wounds in the abdomen and died immediately after.
The killing of al-Atar brings the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza by Israeli gunfire since Friday to 15.
Israel imposed only one nautical mile for fishing in northern Gaza water.
