The emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers kicked off today in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The extraordinary session, requested by Egypt and Jordan, is meant to discuss various important issues related to Arab national security, including the Palestinian cause.
The meeting, held in the presence of the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, discussed healing the Arab rift as well as mobilizing the Arab position in support of the Palestinian cause.
Before the emergency meeting started, the Arab foreign ministers held a consultative session in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Chairman of the current session of the Arab League Council, Arab League Secretary-General, and Arab foreign ministers.
