The Palestinian presidency condemned today the Israeli government’s approval to build 800 new housing units in illegal West Bank settlements.
Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to race against time by making such decisions before the departure of the current US administration, which blindly supported the Israeli government’s attempts to steal Palestinian lands.
He added that Netanyahu’s attempts to seize more Palestinian lands, with US support, will not create any legitimacy, adding that the Palestinian people will not allow Netanyahu to exploit his election campaign to steal Palestinian lands.
Abu Rudeineh stressed that all settlements are illegal and in violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 2334.
He affirmed that there will be no security or stability in the region without the establishment of the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
