Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the Fatah Central Committee and the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) met today with the British Consul General Philip Hall in Ramallah, where they discussed the latest political developments.
The meeting reviewed the political situation facing the Palestinian people and their cause in light of the Israeli authorities’ continued settlement activities across the West Bank, particularly in Jerusalem.
They also discussed the escalation of attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their properties, under the protection of Israeli forces.
The two sides discussed the efforts made to end the division, conduct general legislative and presidential elections, and the National Council.
The British Consul affirmed his country’s support for the two-state solution, the implementation of the United Nations resolutions, and the establishment of peace in the Middle East, as well as Britain’s support for the holding of Palestinian elections.
