President Mahmoud Abbas chaired today evening a meeting of the Coronavirus Emergency Committee, which discussed the situation of the coronavirus pandemic and the measures taken to keep it under control.
During the meeting, which took place at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah, the President issued instructions for the stricter implementation of the health and safety protocols and the prevention of gatherings including weddings, funerals and others.
He also issued instructions to send a ministerial delegation to the Gaza Strip to follow up on the situation of the pandemic and provide needed assistance.
Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and Health Minister Mai Al-Kaileh, who attended the meeting, presented reports on the epidemiological situation in Palestine.
The meeting was attended by cabinet ministers, the heads of the security forces, and the governors of the governorates of Palestine.
