Palestine today recorded 514 confirmed coronavirus cases and two fatalities.
Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced that 514 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and two others died of it in the last 24 hours.
Out of the 514 new cases, 209 cases were confirmed in Hebron district, 10 others in Nablus district, seven others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 12 others in Bethlehem district, six others in Qaqilia district, another in Jenin district, 36 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh district, nine others in Tulkarem district and 224 others in Jerusalem district.
Al-Kaileh identified the two fatalities as a 93-year-old resident of Yatta town, south of Hebron, and a 70-year-old resident of al-Eizariya town, east of Jerusalem.
Besides, al-Kaileh announced that 1,126 COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
Out of the new 1,126 recovery cases, 823 cases were recorded in Jerusalem city, 193 others in Hebron district, three others in Qalqilia district, 10 others in Tubas district, four others in Tulkarem district, 54 others in Nablus district, six others in Jenin district and 33 others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley.
Al-Kaileh pointed out that recovery cases now account for 53.2 percent of total confirmed cases, total active cases decreased to 46.3 percent of the total confirmed cases and the death toll stood at 0.5 percent of the total confirmed cases.
She noted that 11 COVID-19 patients remain in the intensive care units, including a case connected to the respirator.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 17,948.
Out of the 17,948 cases, 13,644 are recorded in the West Bank, 78 in the Gaza Strip and 4,226 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 9,543, including 2,333 in Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 97, leaving a total of 8,308 active cases.
