Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that seven Palestinians have died of coronavirus and 875 new cases were recorded in Palestine.
She said in the daily briefing on the pandemic in Palestine that 1031 patients have also recovered, which makes 68.7 percent of the total cases.
Four of the deaths were confirmed in occupied East Jerusalem, one in Gaza, one in Ramallah and the seventh in Qalqilya in the West Bank.
Most of the new cases were in occupied East Jerusalem where 350 new cases were recorded since Friday, while 249 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours in the Hebron district in the south of the West Bank, 52 in the Ramallah area, and 99 in the besieged Gaza Strip, which recently witnessed a surge in the number cases after months of a lull.
Alkaila said 31 patients are currently in intensive care in hospitals, including eight who are on ventilators.
