Premier Mohammad Shtayyeh today announced that Germany is set to provide Palestine with 50 ventilators to boost the efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
“In light of the cessation of security coordination with the Israeli side, we have contacted and authorized the United Nations to help deliver the medical equipment donated by China and Saudi Arabia ]to the occupied territories[. Besides, Germany will soon provide us with 50 ventilators, which will mostly sent to Hebron,” Shatayyeh said during a meeting with a host of Fatah officials from Hebron as well as Justice Minister Mohammed Shalada and ICT Minister Ishaq Sider in Ramallah.
Shatayyeh warned that the current health conditions were difficult and were set to aggravate amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Considering this prospective aggravation, he pointed out that the cabinet decided to postpone the opening of schools to September 6th.
Discussing the cabinet’s efforts to battle the spread of the highly contagious virus, he pointed out that the cabinet has started to deploy 100 medical personnel equipped with necessary vehicles and ambulances, particularly in Hebron, the current pandemic epicenter.
