President Mahmoud Abbas received a reply letter from his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad, in which he affirmed Syria‘s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the American so-called deal of the century, US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the occupying state, Israel, and plans to annex Palestinian territory to Israel.
President al-Assad stressed in his letter that Syria will not hesitate to support the struggle of the Palestinian people, wishing the Palestinian President and people more success and perseverance in confronting the American and Israeli plans.
President Abbas had sent a letter to President al-Assad, which was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Ziyad Abu Amr in which he explained the political steps taken by the Palestinian leadership in confronting the American-Israeli “deal of the century”, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan, and the annexation scheme of parts of the Palestinian territory, supported and with the collusion of the US administration with the Israeli government.
President Abbas wished in his letter persistence, perseverance, and victory to President al-Assad, the Syrian people, and the Syrian state.
