The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry Wednesday evening announced the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths among Palestinians in the diaspora has risen to 1,229 and 61 respectively.
The ministry said in a statement that there were 1,229 confirmed novel coronavirus cases, 61 fatalities and 476 recovery cases among Palestinians in the diaspora.
Providing more details, the ministry said that 13 Palestinians in the US tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The confirmed cases were identified as 10 Palestinians in Michigan, two others in Ohio and another in Philadelphia.
It added that a COVID-19 Palestinian patient has succumbed to his injury in the US.
In Sweden, the number of COVID-19 Palestinian patients in that country increased to 120, including 90 cases who recovered, 28 cases who remain in home quarantine and two fatalities.
In Norway, the ministry pointed out that the number of Palestinians infected with the novel coronavirus in that country increased to eight.
In Ukraine, the ministry revealed that two Palestinian students pursuing their studies in that country have contracted the virus, and subsequently, moved to quarantine.
