Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin stressed the need to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.
The Italian premier stressed that the two-states solution continues to be the fairest and most sustainable way forward, stating that: “Italy is ready to support a negotiation process that, taking into account the legitimate aspirations of both parties, may also contribute to the stability and security of the Middle Eastern region.”
For his part, the Vatican Cardinal said that the Holy See has repeatedly affirmed its position of a two-state solution for two peoples to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, adding that international community must give strong new impetus to this solution.
