Palestine today requested the Arab League to convene an urgent session over the US-touted Mideast deal.
Palestinian ambassador to Cairo Diab al-Louh announced that Palestine has requested the Arab League to convene an urgent extraordinary session at the ministerial level with the attendance of President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss means to face the US-touted Mideast plan, scheduled to be released today.
“The meeting, scheduled on Saturday, comes at a crucial time, and requires a unified Arab position in the face of all schemes designed to dismiss the Palestinian national question and undermine the two-state solution as well as the prospects for the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he elaborated.
Dubbed deal of the century, the plan was slammed by Palestinian officials as intended to force Palestinians into submission to Israeli dominance.
