Director of al-Aqsa Mosque Omar Kiswani said the Israeli occupation is trying to take advantage of the Jewish holidays to increase the frequency of Israeli settlers’ incursions into al-Aqsa mosque, the third holiest site in Islam.
Kiswani stressed in a press statement that al-Aqsa mosque is an only Muslim holy place and all United Nations resolutions, including UNESCO resolutions, affirm that.
He called on Arab and Muslim countries to continue defending the mosque and to stand with the Islamic Waqf (endowment) in protecting the holy mosque because it belongs to all Muslims, not only Palestinians.
To be noted, Israeli settlers have called for increasing incursions into al-Aqsa mosque to celebrate the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.
