Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed the Egyptian stance in support of the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights according to the relevant international principles and references.
Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement that Sisi’s statements came during his meeting with Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt in Cairo.
President Sisi also stressed that Egypt would continue the efforts to achieve Palestinian national reconciliation since it is a fundamental guarantee for the unity of the Palestinian stance, the spokesman said.
He said that Sisi also affirmed his country’s efforts to improve living conditions in the Gaza Strip and restore calm in the seaside territory.
The meeting, according to Radi, also discussed the importance of exerting efforts to resolve the current stalemate in the peace process and to settle the Palestinian cause in a way that meets the aspirations of the Palestinian people and guarantees their rights.
