Japan: Violence will not resolve issues between Palestinians, Israel

Japan called upon Palestinian factions and Israel to resolve their issues through negotiations rather than violence, on Wednesday.Japanese Press Secretary, Takeshi Osuga, expressed his government’s deep concern regarding the situation in Gaza over the past two days as tensions have risen in the besieged strip and surrounding areas.Osuga said, in a statement, that “Japan firmly believes that the issues facing the two parties, Israel and Palestine, cannot by any means be resolved by violence, and that they can be resolved only through efforts of both sides to build mutual trust and through negotiations between them.”.The press secretary called on parties to exercise maximum restraint, saying that “Japan urges all parties concerned to exert their maximum efforts toward resuming the peace negotiations.”
